Surviving the distance
My husband and I met during our college days. We’ve been together for 12 years now and I can say that most of those years, we spent them apart. He works overseas, and I am here in the Philippines, with our daughter. What really keeps us strong is our faith and genuine love for each other.
I always tell myself that this is only temporary. One day, this distance will no longer exist because we will be together, every waking hour of our lives. I just have to trust him and ask for God’s guidance, that he may be faithful to me all the time.
Sometimes, I envy others on social media who always post something about their husbands, who always go out of town with their family. I can only do that few times in a year.
Keep communication line open
Good thing about this generation are the unlimited ways on how to communicate with your loved ones abroad. There is facebook, messenger, Skype, WhatsApp, and the like. We communicate on a daily basis, especially now that our daughter always look forward for her daddy’s video call.
I know a lot of people can relate to us, and now can answer the question, “How do you survive the distance?”
