The top 3 Ramen places in Metro Manila

Ramen restaurants in Metro Manila are very popular nowadays. I remember the first time that I’ve ever tasted ramen, honestly I wasn’t fond of it at first but after having it for the second time, that soul warming bowl eventually got me addicted. Now here are the top 3 ramen places in the metro that I’ve tried that serves authentic Ramen that will have you slurping your bowl clean in no time!

#3 Ippudo

Surprised? Me too. I did say at one point that Ippudo is the best ramen in Manila but after a few months I noticed a difference in the taste. The Shitamachi became less flavorful, less thick and I wasn’t crazy about the chashu anymore. It’s still good don’t get me wrong but you can say its medyo nakakasawa? Despite that, Ippudo always introduces new flavors (for a limited time) that will always keep me interested in this place. Their Kuro ramen was the best. I hope they bring it back.

#2 Mendokoro Ramenba

This is the only ramen place in Manila that serves chashu that literally melts in your mouth. My God. Glorious. Broth is good, noodles are good and they all complement each other. People still line up to eat here even after a few years. The only thing I hate about this place is their location. I live up North and both Mendokoro and Yushoken are down south.

#1 Ramen Nagi

Majority of the people love Ramen Nagi even me. Being able to customize your ramen is one of the best ways to not get tired of their food. A month doesn’t go by that I don’t eat here at least twice. From the first time I tried it until today. Then I thought about it and one word came to mind, “consistency.” That is the one quality of Ramen Nagi with all the branches they have, that makes them one of the most loved ramen places in Manila. They’ve been around for a couple of years now and they’re still expanding. But as you can see, they’re not the best on my list but neither is Max’s the best fried chicken. But like Max’s, when people think of ramen, it’s Ramen Nagi that will come to mind. A place you will keep coming back to. Your staple. Your comfort food. Now that’s the reason why this ramen place tops the list of all the ramen places I’ve been.
