Before, people associated him as Neo from the hit trilogy: The Matrix. He went on to do more films but it didn’t do well in the box office. Fast forward to 2014, he starred as the protagonist in the same name of the movie. And now, he’s Mr. Wick to everyone.
John Wick was release on October 24, 2014 in the USA and directed by Chad Stahelski, the same guy who doubled for Brandon Lee after that fatal accident on the set of The Crow (1994) and this is his first directorial debut. The movie was met with positive reviews and grossed $84 million worldwide with a production cost of $20 million.
Being an action movie lover, I was astounded at the action stunts in this movie, the story underlying it and the grief and loneliness that he felt in the movie. As Iosef Tarasov’s last words are: “It’s just a f****” before he met Wick’s bullets. Wick left his interesting career when he met Helen. Unfortunately, she died due to a disease and left him with a dog, a Beagle, so that he won’t grieve alone.
Now, we all know in a movie, if a human dies, it’s fine, we move on. But, when a dog dies, that’s a different story all together. And it’s not just a dog, it’s Wick last lifeline to move on in his life. Good thing, he found another before the movie ended.
I don’t like trilogies as I always think that the sequels will ruin the next ones. But, come on, it’s Keanu Reeves! And I want to know if the pitbull he adopted is still doing okay.
